Welcome to a brief summary of the history of The Open Academy (1987-1992) for The Promotion of Human Rights in Denmark

The Academy worked on a general basis 1987-1992.  It did not take personal cases. Further information can be obtained from the coordinator Inge Balling

The Convention for Human Rights and Biomedicine from The European Council

Here is the full text of the above mentioned convention with the two Danish different official translations juxtaposed

Here is The European Council site on biotechnology

www.bioetikkonvention.dk - is currently being updated. In a Danish context it is of particular interest that vital legal issues are  being subjected to ambiguity. That is due to the  drawing up  of two different official translations of the above mentioned convention by two different authorities one of which is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with The European Council (ISBN 87-609-0393-7). The Ministry of Health  paid for the other translation. Please take a look at the original text of the convention with the two different official Danish translations juxtaposed.
Article 2 is a key article i.e. all articles of the convention shall be administered in the light of key article 2
Linguists and especially  professional translators  of medico-legal texts may find interesting material in that article alone.
